Scott Walters Joins Charkit Chemical Company as Senior Business Development Manager

Norwalk, Connecticut, May 16, 2019 – Jay Lang, President of Charkit Chemical Company, announced that effective immediately, Scott Walters has joined Charkit as Senior Business Development Manager. Mr. Walters will cultivate relationships with Charkit’s existing customers and will identify new market opportunities in the Household, Industrial, and Institutional sectors. He will report to Panos Yannopoulos, Vice President of Sales.

Scott Walters comes to Charkit from Harcros Chemicals in Kansas City, Kansas, where he worked for eight years as an Industry Specialist responsible for driving business in the Household, Industrial, and Institutional markets as well as in the Vehicle Care, Pet Care, and Oilfield categories. At Harcros, he served as a technical liaison, guiding the strategic development of new products by identifying new raw chemical materials, concentrates, and blends based on diverse customer needs. He also managed an end-to-end technical support system for Harcros’ customers, providing assistance with everything from experimental design to regulatory compliance. 

Mr. Walters previously worked in Research & Development for Cargill Industrial Bio Products, where his work on the commercialization of chemical processes to produce triglycerides and other feedstocks earned him Cargill’s Research and Development Award for the Development and Monetization of Metathesis Platform. He also received two U.S. Department of Agriculture grants for his development of sustainable product lines using Soy Methyl Esters for companies like Johnson Diversey and 3M. 

Mr. Walters holds a BS in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire.
