Norwalk, Connecticut, August 13 2018 – Jay Lang, Executive Vice President, Charkit Chemical Company of Norwalk, CT, a subsidiary of LBB Specialties LLC, announced that effective immediately, Christopher Klumph has joined the Charkit organization in an operational and business development role.
Chris was most recently Vice President of Business Development at ChayseChem, a privately held distributor whose assets were acquired by Charkit earlier this month. In conjunction with that acquisition, Chris will now operate the ChayseChem business under the Charkit umbrella. Mr. Lang stated, “Chris will be focusing much of his time on the agrochemical and pharmaceutical markets, and he will also be responsible for identifying additional potential manufacturing partners that can further enhance Charkit’s strength and growth. These are important areas for Charkit as we continue to take the company to the next level.”
Chris has an extensive commercial background, having worked in a variety of organizations in sales, marketing, business development and corporate purchasing roles. Before joining ChayseChem, he was at Novasep, a French-based contract manufacturing organization (CMO), where he served in a Senior Director Business Development capacity. At Novasep, Chris was responsible for promoting their unique synthesis and purification technologies into all non-pharma markets throughout the U.S.
Earlier in his career, Chris worked in corporate purchasing at Troy Corporation and ISP, a company involved with butanediol and derivatives for various markets, industrial biocides, elastomers, and other specialty chemicals. He also served in sales, marketing, and purchasing roles at FMC Corporation and SNPE North America, where he played a key role in working with NASA and the Defense Energy Support Center (DESC), the contracting entity for the U.S. Government, on supplying alkyl hydrazines for use as propellants in fighter jet ejection seats and the Orbital Maneuvering Systems (OMS) used in the Space Shuttle program.
Chris is a past President and remains an active member of The Racemics Organization. He is also a member of The Founders Club, a by-invitation organization that was launched in 1981 by a group of petrochemical industry executives. Chris and his fiancé, Patti, have four children between them, along with two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
