Angie Inouye, Charkit West Coast Account Executive Named Chair, California SCC
Norwalk, Connecticut, January 19, 2015 – Charles Hinnant, President, Charkit Chemical Corporation, announced that Angie Inouye, Charkit’s West Coast Account Executive – Personal Care, has been elected Chairperson of the California Chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC).
In making the announcement, Mr. Hinnant said, “Angie has successfully garnered this leadership role in the SCC California Chapter that is comprised of about 700 members. On behalf of all the people at Charkit, we congratulate Angie and are confident that, in the same way she is a standout performer in the West Coast sales activities of our company, she will do a great deal to further the important industry goals of the SCC.”
As Chairperson of the California Chapter, Ms Inouye presides at all Chapter and Executive Committee meetings. She is responsible for initiating, furthering and guiding all of the Chapter’s activities, including monthly educational meetings and scientific seminars. She is the key oversight person of one of the industry’s leading exhibitions, the Biennial West Coast Suppliers Day California Exhibition and Conference. The two day event will take place at the Long Beach Convention Center, Long Beach, California, on October 14-15, 2015. A contributing member of the SCC California Board for 20 years, Ms Inouye has previously served as Chair/Co-Chair of the exhibit.
The SCC California Chapter is one of 19 nationwide chapters that represent more than 4,000 members. It was founded in 1945 to promote high standards of practice in cosmetic sciences and to exchange ideas and new developments in cosmetic research and technology. By promoting research and by setting high ethical, professional and educational standards, the SCC aims to improve the qualifications of cosmetic scientists. Its mission is to advance interest in cosmetic scientists and maintain the public’s confidence in the industry.
Ms Inouye is a past board member and past President of Beauty Industry West which honored her as a Chapter Merit Award Winner for her outstanding service, dedication and volunteer services.
